According to the Aurora Police Department, officers responded to 911 calls for a disturbance with shots fired in the 600 blk. of S. Lake St. at around 4:45 p.m.

When officers arrived, two males allegedly took off running from the scene.

Officers quickly started searching the area, and one juvenile male was taken into custody a short distance away from the incident.

An Aurora Police patrol supervisor spotted the other male and started chasing him. The supervisor shouted commands at the suspect, but he didn't stop and ran into a home in the 500 blk. of S. Lake St.

Officers attempted to make contact with the suspect, but he allegedly refused to come out.

At around 7:00 p.m., a Kane County search warrant was authorized for the home and Aurora Police's Special Response Team and Drone Team were activated and responded to the scene.

Naperville's Special Response Team also responded to the scene to assist. Aurora's Emergency Management Agency responded to the scene and assisted in shutting down roadways in the area.

Officers used loudspeakers to make announcements for anyone inside of the residence to come out immediately. A woman came out of the home, by officers believed the male suspect and potentially others were still inside.

Announcements continued and officers made entry to the front of the home. A short time later, a male and another female came outside.

The male suspect was taken into custody and was interviewed by detectives. No charges were listed in a press release.

Evidence technicians from Aurora Police's Evidence Unit responded to the scene to collect evidence.
