Yorkville Police announced Friday night that they arrested a juvenile who they say was involved in a May 4th shooting and April 2nd robbery in Yorkville.
Police say a 16 year-old was taken into custody after a warrant was executed around 4:39 a.m. on Friday in the 1300 block of Marketplace Drive.
A search warrant was also executed on a detached garage connected to the address where police say they recovered a 9mm handgun, 9mm ammunition and a .44 magnum revolver.
As WSPY previously reported, police said two shell casings and a live round of ammunition were found after the reported shooting on May 4th in the 1300 block of Marketplace Drive.
Upon further investigation, police also said they learned that a red mini van was involved in the incident and fled the area. There were no injuries reported.
For the shooting, police say the 16 year-old is charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder, Attempted Armed Robbery and three counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
Evidence was also allegedly recovered on Friday, related to a previously reported robbery.
On April 2, in the 200 block of E. Veterans Pkwy., a 17 year-old male, the victim in the case, had agreed to meet an individual to purchase an item for $120 in the 1300 block of Marketplace Drive.
Police said the victim came into contact with three male subjects. After an exchange of money, one of the suspects then allegedly proceeded to shove the victim against a vehicle and proceeded to take an additional $130.
The victim did not sustain any injuries and no weapons were implied or displayed.
The teen is charged in that case for Robbery, Aggravated Battery, and Mob Action. Additional charges may be forth coming in both cases.
No additional suspects have been reported as receiving charges at this point.
The juvenile is in custody at the Juvenile Justice Center in St. Charles.
Yorkville Police say they were assisted in Friday's arrest by the Kendall County Special Response Team and the Kendall County Cooperative Police Assistance Team.
