Talking with Joe Dillett and his wife Sharon of Somonauk, their stories of wounded veterans are humbling. So many sacrifices by men and women for world peace and our freedom.  We do not know, nor will we ever.  We were not there.

Joe and Sharon take part twice yearly in The 21st Century Heroes program in Jackson, Wyoming.

Their stories will touch your heart and soul.  Sharon is a caring nurse; Joe a woodcarver extraordinaire, together sharing their talents with wounded combat veterans from across America. Here is a sampling of their experiences.

This happened in Joe’s woodshop in Somonauk.

This soldier had brain surgery three weeks before the woodcarving program.

So this Veteran Day’s Weekend, thank the men and women of the armed forces. You will see them with their proud caps.  Some you will not see...their shocking stories hidden in their pain.
