Two people were taken to an area hospital with injuries, following a crash where the driver of a vehicle merged into a semi-trailer in Yorkville on Friday.
Yorkville Police say the crash occurred around 6:20 a.m. on N. Bridge St. (Route 47) just south of W. Kendall Dr.
According to a report, 25 year-old Nicholas Dato of McLaren Dr. in Oswego was headed southbound on N. Bridge St. in the left turn lane when he merged right and allegedly struck the driver's side rear of a semi- trailer being hauled southbound by a 43 year-old man from Elkhorn, Wisconsin.
Dato and a passenger in his vehicle, 19 year-old Marta Salgado of Dorothy Dr. in Somonauk, were both transported from the scene to Rush-Copley Hospital for treatment.
Dato was also cited for Improper Lane Usage. The Wisconsin man was not cited or injured.
