The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office says two were injured and one person was cited in a crash near Hinckley on Tuesday morning.

Sheriff's deputies were called to the intersection of U.S. Highway 30 and Pritchard Rd. around 6:48 a.m. to investigate.

According to a report, 44 year-old Eric Forbes of Somonauk Rd. in Hinckley was headed east on Highway 30 when he allegedly tried to pass two cars at the same time in dense fog.

An westbound vehicle, being driven by 60 year-old Lynne Paver of Shaw Rd. in Big Rock, was struck head on.

The sheriff's office says both drivers were taken from the scene -- Forbes to Valley West Hospital in Sandwich and Paver to Delnor Hospital in Geneva.

Forbes has since been cited in the crash for Reckless Driving and Improper Overtaking.

Following his hospital release, he was released from custody on a personal recognizance.
