Our sister station WCSJ is reporting that one person was reportedly stabbed in the Morris area, late Monday night.
The Grundy County Sheriff's Office says it happened in the area of Island Drive around 11:45 p.m.
Authorities say a 30-year-old female was found bleeding from the abdomen and stated she had been stabbed by two unidentified black males, who jumped out in front of her vehicle, as she was leaving her driveway.
The victim stated she fired a weapon multiple times at the offenders which caused them to flee from the scene.
The immediate area was checked by multiple responding units and no suspects were located. The sheriff's office says no signs of a gunshot victim were located on scene; however, area hospitals were informed to contact the sheriff’s office if anyone matching the given description came in for medical attention related to a gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.
