UPDATE:

Yorkville Police say that an Aurora woman has since been cited for Leaving the Scene of an Accident in relation to a vehicle that was found in a Yorkville pond earlier this month.

In a press release issued on Monday morning, police say that 55 year-old Kimberly Bentley of N. Edgelawn Dr. was cited.

As WSPY previously reported, Yorkville Police said a vehicle was found in a pond the morning of September 14th, however, no occupants or driver were found.

Police responded to Autumn Creek Blvd. and Crimson Ln. around 6:26 a.m. where the vehicle, a 2011 Hyundai Sonata, was found by a passerby, unoccupied.

Police and Bristol-Kendall Fire and EMS had checked the area with negative results for a driver or any occupants. Police say it is still unknown when the vehicle entered the pond.

The vehicle was removed that day. Police say investigation is still pending further in the case.
