Illinois State Police say that a Warrenville man died after he was struck by a pickup truck near Newark on Monday afternoon.
ISP officials say 58 year-old Peter Dudak is the deceased.
Authorities responded to the crash, which occurred at the intersection of Route 71 and Ottawa Road, around 3:07 p.m.
According to preliminary investigations, Dudak, who was operating a motorcycle, was traveling northbound Route 71 when a pick-up truck, being driven by 78 year-old Larry Larson of Sheridan, was traveling on Ottawa Road.
ISP allege that Larson stopped at the stop sign and then proceeded through the intersection, in front of the motorcycle when the two vehicles crashed.
Both drivers were transported to area hospitals for their injuries. Dudak was pronounced deceased upon arrival at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
State Police say Larson was cited for Failure to Yield at a Stop Intersection. It's not clear the extent of his injuries or if he remains hospitalized. There were no passengers.
ISP is continuing to investigate the crash.
