A Yorkville man, arrested Wednesday night on a warrant in Oswego Twp., is accused of making threats to "shoot up" a business in Yorkville, earlier this year.
The Kendall County Sheriff's office says 25 year-old Claude Gauthier of Bertram Dr. was arrested around 9:19 p.m. on Wednesday after sheriff's deputies were called to investigate a report of suspicious circumstances in the 0 to 50 block of Settlers Ln. in Oswego Twp.
Deputies found that Gauthier had a warrant out for his arrest. He is charged with Disorderly Conduct and two counts of Harassment Through Electronic Communications.
Yorkville Police say the case stems from their jurisdiction and dates back to April 7th, 2019. Police officials tell WSPY that officers took a report that day from a restaurant in the 1900 block of Marketview Dr. where Gauthier had allegedly called multiple times and during a phone call, allegedly threatened to, "shoot up the place," arguing with the restaurant personnel.
Kendall County Court records show a warrant was issued for Gauthier's arrest on April 12th. Following his arrest on Wednesday night, Gauthier was transported to the Kendall County Jail.
No charges were filed in connection with the initial call for suspicious circumstances.
Bail on the warrant was set at $10,000 with 10 percent needed to be free on bond.
