A Yorkville man and reported youth baseball coach is facing child sex and battery charges in Yorkville.
Yorkville Police officials tell WSPY that 43 year-old Brian Sicilia of Old Glory Dr. was arrested Friday morning on charges of Attempted Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, Sexual Exploitation of a Child and Battery in connection with an incident that occurred on June 20th in Yorkville where a child victim was involved.
Police officials say an investigation began after the incident was reported that occurred at a residence in the 2800 block of Old Glory Dr.
Yorkville Deputy Police Chief Behr Pfizenmaier told WSPY on Friday that because the victim in the case is a juvenile, little about the incident could be released. The juvenile is between 13 and 17 years old, based on the statute of the offenses.
Deputy Chief Pfizenmaier also said he was unsure of Sicilia's status as a coach but said he had heard similar. Pfizenmaier said he did have knowledge Sicilia was not a coach through a city-run program.
According to Yorkville Youth Baseball and Softball Association information, Sicilia is listed as a coach of a Yorkville youth baseball team.
Deputy Chief Pfizenmaier says Sicilia had a warrant issued for his arrest on Wednesday. Charges were secured on Tuesday. Kendall County Sheriff's officials say Sicilia turned himself in at the Kendall County Courthouse on Friday morning.
He was booked into the Kendall County Jail on $75,000 bond and posted bond later Friday morning.
