A 26 year-old Yorkville man, who was a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at Route 34 and Autumn Creek Blvd. in Yorkville, died on Sunday morning.
Authorities say Ryan Baker of Yorkville is the deceased.
Yorkville Police say the accident happened around 1:03 a.m. where was reported that a pedestrian, later identified as Baker, was struck near the intersection.
Police say Baker had been previously walking westbound on Route 34 in the northbound lane. He was transported to Rush Copley Hospital in Aurora where he was pronounced deceased.
Police say the driver of the vehicle is a 26 year-old male from Oswego. He has not been further identified.
No additional injuries or citations have been announced, though, police say an investigation is being conducted with assistance from the Kane County Sheriff’s Office and Illinois State Police traffic crash reconstruction teams, as well as the Kane County Coroner's Office.
Police re-opened all lanes of traffic at approximately 7:15 a.m. on Sunday morning.
