Yorkville Police are investigating after a man in a vehicle allegedly approached a juvenile on foot near Yorkville High School on Monday.
According to a report, the juvenile reported to officers that a male driving a gray vehicle allegedly approached him by the Yorkville High School tennis courts on Game Farm Rd. at around 5:30 p.m.
The man allegedly asked the juvenile if he needed a ride. Officials say the juvenile declined the ride; the male then allegedly invited the juvenile to get into the vehicle.
The juvenile left the area, as did the vehicle in question.
Officials say the male driver of the gray vehicle is described as a white male in his 30s or 40s who is bald with a beard.
Police officials are continuing to investigate the incident. As a precaution, there will be additional police presence in the vicinity of area schools.
Yorkville Police, along with Yorkville CUSD 115 officials, say they appreciate the juvenile for reporting the incident to police.
