The Mendota Driver Services Facility was closed Thursday after an employee tested positive for COVID-19. A statement from the Secretary of State's Office says the it will remain closed until August 12. In the meantime, the building will be cleaned and sanitized. All employees are being quarantined for fourteen days.
As a reminder, expiration dates for licenses and license plate stickers have been moved back to November so no one needs to rush. Drivers can take care of some things online.
Anyone visiting the DMV anywhere is required to wear a mask and be ready to social distance. That could mean having to wait outside. There are other Driver Services Facilities in Plano, Sterling, Princeton, LaSalle, and Ottawa.
