Betty Halvorsen

Betty Halverson, 88, of Leland, IL passed away peacefully Monday, October 28, 2019 at her son’s home in rural Leland, IL.  She was born May 2, 1931 in Danville, IL the only child of Ralph and Ruth (Creighton) Kinney.  Betty was raised in the Community of # 10 Church of Christ near Armstrong, IL.  She graduated from Armstrong High School in the class of 1949.  Betty was an LPN and enjoyed traveling.

She is survived by one son, Bevin (Debbie) Wold of Leland, IL;  four grandchildren, Andy (Charity) Wold and Chet (Jenny) Wold both of Leland, IL, Ellianne (Adam) Fuchs of Sugar Grove, IL, and Adam Wold of Malta, IL;  six great grandchildren, Laynie, Dylan, Tinley and Hudson Wold, Henry and Leo Fuchs.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son James “G-ma” Wold; her first husband Marvin Wold, her second husband Milburn Halverson.

Private services will be held at a later date near Armstrong, IL.  Arrangements were entrusted to Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL.  For more information or to sign the online guest book go to

Betty was a wonderful person. I worked with her at the nursing home. She was so caring. Such a loss. My condolences to all that knew and loved her.. Heaven had another 👼 angel..
