Darla Pickett

Darla J. Pickett, age 60 of Sandwich, IL passed away on Monday, November 25, 2019 at Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb, IL. She was born on May 19, 1959 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Landrum Joseph and Evelyn (Williamson) Henderson.

Darla was united in marriage on October 13, 1979 to Mr. Lendell Ray Pickett and they spent the next 35 happy years together until his passing on April 2, 2014. Mrs. Pickett was formerly employed at the Kohls Distribution Center in Ottawa, IL. She enjoyed sewing and going to craft shows. Mrs. Pickett was an avid NASCAR enthusiast. Darla was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.

Darla is survived by her daughters, Kristy (Antonio) Gonzalez of Plano, IL, Crystal (John) Newell of Jenison, MI, and Ashely (fiancé, Jason Rausch) Pickett of Janesville, WI; her grandchildren, Brianna Ormsby, James Pickett, and Jack Newell; her brother, James Henderson of Sandwich, IL; her sister, Debra Henderson of West Memphis, AR; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lendell Pickett; and her brother, Claude Henderson.

A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, November 29, 2019 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1010 West South Street, Plano, IL. Interment will be private.

Friends may visit from 4:00 pm until the Hour of Service on Friday, November 29, 2019 at the Nelson Funeral Home in Plano, IL.
