Donna Hammond
Donna M. Winebaugh-Hammond, age 81, of Wamego, Kansas, formerly of Sandwich, Illinois, passed away on April 10, 2019 at Homecare and Hospice located in Manhattan, Kansas.  She was born on December 24, 1937 in Rochelle, Illinois to Dorothy and Bernard Stunkel.  After her mother’s untimely death, she was then raised by her grandparents Adolph and Carrie Gunderson of Steward, Illinois.

Donna retired from Barber-Greene Co. after 20 years of service. She later rejoined the work force at Aurora Bearing Co. for another 10 years. She enjoyed swimming at the Plano YMCA, attending activities at the Fox Valley Older Adults Services, shopping, garage sales and playing with her dogs.  She especially loved attending all of her grandchildren’s events!   Most of all she loved her family and friends and cherished the times they shared together.  She will forever be remembered for her kind and caring heart toward humans and all animals.

Survivors include her daughter Linda (David) Munson of Wamego, KS; two grandchildren, Jaclyn (Brandon) Abel of Fort Collins, CO and Robert (Brittany) Munson of Randolph, KS; two great granddaughters, Mary Abel and Evelyn Munson.  Also surviving are two step sons Tom (Barb) Winebaugh and their children, Joshua, Aimee, and Lucas; Bill (Natalie) Winebaugh and his children Heath, Matt, Katie, Scott and their families.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, Bill R. Winebaugh and Kermit Hammond.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Steward United Methodist Church, 507 S. Main St. Steward, IL, (815)396-2250, officiated by Pastor Megan Thompson.  Honoring Donna’s request, cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will take place following the service at the Steward Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed toward Fox Valley Older Adult Services in Sandwich, IL.  For further information please call 815-735-8924.
