Eulogio Ortega, 70, of Sandwich, IL passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born April 7, 1950 in Durango, Mexico the son of Juan and Magdalena Ortega. He is one of 25 children. He married Teresa Rodriguez in February of 1972 in El Potrero de Campa, Mexico. He enjoyed gardening, ranching/farming, yearly trips to Mexico, singing, and dancing. He was a great storyteller. Most of all he loved to spend time with his family.

He is survived by his wife; children Blanca (Enrique) Amayo of Sandwich, IL, Eulogio (Jessica) Ortega of Sandwich, IL, and Leslie (Timothy) Ludwig of Sandwich, IL; grandchildren Karime, Elena, Isaac, Ezra, Haven, Sophia, Natalie, Lukas, and Kamila; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Sandwich, IL with Father William Vallejo officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery in Sandwich, IL. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the number is limited to family only at Church, but visitation will be open to the public. Visitations will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2020 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL. So sad to hear this news. My condolences to the Ortega family for your sad loss. Elogio was a long time employee of Imperial Marble. He was very well liked by the entire Imperial family for his kind and humble demeanor and his good sense of humor. He was a loyal, dedicated and exemplary employee.
