John R. Lux, age 74 of Yorkville, IL passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Kind Hands Senior Care in Yorkville, IL. He was born on February 24, 1946 in Chicago, IL the son of John P. and Evelyn (Yeoman) Lux.

John was united in marriage on October 14, 1989 to Barbara (Suchor) Miller and they have spent the next 31 years happily together. He was a member of Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL. John was a graduate of the Oak Park and River Forest High School in Oak Park, IL. Mr. Lux was employed for 38 years by the Brach Candy Company in Chicago, IL. He served as the former President of the Sandwich Chamber of Commerce in Sandwich, IL. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

John is survived by his wife, Barbara Lux of Yorkville, IL; his children, Jennifer Lux of CA, Jessica (Ramiro) Herrera of AZ, Michelle Miller of MI and McKenzie Lux of Yorkville, IL; his granddaughter, Tressie Herrera; his siblings, Judith Michalski of Elmhurst, IL and Jayne Lux of Villa Park, IL; also many dear nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Evelyn Lux; and his brother-in-law, Richard Michalski.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, January 15, 2021 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL with Pastor Eric Gauss, officiating. Interment will follow in the Cross Lutheran Cemetery in Yorkville, IL.

Friends may visit from 9:00 AM until the Hour of Service on Friday, January 15, 2021 at the Funeral Home in Yorkville, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to Cross Lutheran Church and School in Yorkville, IL or Pacific Garden Mission of Chicago would be appreciated.
