Melba Fay Shaffer, 92, of Sandwich, IL, passed away Friday, October 16, 2020 at Ottawa Pavilion in Ottawa, IL.  She was born February 8, 1928 in Dresden, TN, the daughter of Hubert and Hattie (Sullivan) Lamb.  She married Earl H. Shaffer on April 15, 1951 in Corinth, MS.  She was a member of The United Church of Sandwich, IL, for over 55 years. She enjoyed shopping, canning, gardening, and nature. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by one son Earl Shaffer of Sandwich, IL; one daughter Brenda (Thomas) F. Stack of Sandwich, IL; one sister Relma Williams of Midwest City, OK; three granddaughter, Ami (Brian) Dose of Ottawa, IL, Raven (Adam) Szalkowski of St Charles, IL, Jodi (Eric) Wulff of Sheridan, IL; 5 great-grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 5 step great-grandchildren; one son-in-law, Robert Beck of Leland, IL., and many nieces and nephews.

 She was preceded is death by her parents; husband; one daughter Barbara Ann Beck; son-in-law, Malon Mabe; 3 brothers; Paul, Walter, and Bj Lamb; two sisters, Stella Keeton  and Elise Herron.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL with Tom Bourke officiating. Burial will follow at Pratts Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sandwich, IL. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, October 21 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL.
