Roberta M. Carlson, age 93 of Yorkville, IL passed away on Monday, August 26, 2019 at Michaelsen Health Center in Batavia, IL. She was born on July 9, 1926 in West Brooklyn, IL the daughter of Florian and Gladys (McCrea) Walter.

Roberta was united in marriage on January 5, 1946 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Batavia, IL to Richard G. Carlson and they spent the next 71 happy years of their lives together until his passing on March 13, 2017.

Mrs. Carlson was a longtime and very active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Yorkville, IL. She enjoyed spending time with her friends in the Read Hat Society. Roberta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Richard (Anita) Carlson of Carol Stream, IL, Robert (Nancy) Carlson of Morton, IL, Alan (Alice) Carlson of Norman, OK, Kenneth (Laura) Carlson of Geneva, IL, Duane (Janet) Carlson of Perrysberg, OH, Tom (Deborah) Carlson of Batavia, IL; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; her brother, Don Walter of Rochelle, IL; her sister, Delores Holm of Batavia, IL; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Florian and Gladys Walter; her husband, Richard G. Carlson; her brother, Florian Walter; and her sister, Charlene Gamble.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 30, 2019 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 406 Walnut St., Yorkville, IL with Father Matthew Lamoureux, M.I.C. officiating. Entombment will follow in Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Wheaton, IL.

Friends may visit from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home & Crematory, 1617 N. Bridge St. Yorkville, IL.
