Ronald Lee

Ronald H Lee, age 75, of Aurora, IL, passed away in August of 2019 at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL. He was born in December of 1943 in Aurora, IL the son of Russel and Lillian (Bettendorf) Lee.

Ron was united in marriage in October 1962 and they spent the next 56 years happily together. He attended Williams Military Academy in Wheaton IL, graduated from West Aurora High School, then attended Waubonsee Community College. Ron was employed at Richardson Electronics (formerly National Electronics) in La Fox, IL for 14 years. Then he worked at Network Services in Schaumburg IL for the next 28 years in Data Processing until his retirement.

Time with his family brought him great joy. He enjoyed helping his daughter with house projects and yard work on the weekends. Ron, his daughter, and wife enjoyed going to the movie theater, attending performances in the area together and took advantage of everyspecial occasion to go out to eat. Ron was an avid sports fan. West Aurora Basketball was his greatest passion enjoying both local and tournament games. He loved watching his son play basketball at West Aurora and Bemidji State. He followed his son’s coaching career and he loved talking hoops with him at length. He found joy in watching his granddaughters play basketball and he always had a camera at their games. He was a little league score-keeper for many years with the late Don Jungels’ teams. He loved music and was a big Elvis and Beach Boys fan. He was a very talented piano player who mostly played by ear. His other hobbies were photography, playing Chess and Ping Pong. After retirement, Ron could be found enjoying the warm weather outside in the yard with his wife and dog, Sunny. Ron was a very gentle, kind and humble person who will be missed by all who knew him.

Ron is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret; one daughter, Diana Lee of Aurora, IL; one son, David (Ronda) Lee of Hayward, WI; three granddaughters, Morgan (Jake) Schalow, Tatum (Zach) Noreen and Ricki (Bryce) Gervais; three great grandsons, CJ and Gus Noreen and Tysen Schalow.

Ron was preceded in death by his infant daughter Virginia Lee, parents and step mother Sophie Lee.

Visitation on Friday, August 30, 2019 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 7:00 pm at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lee family.
