Russell Clyde Miller, age 88 of Plano, IL passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 17, 1932 in Springfield, IL the son of Clyde and Velma Leona (Sexton) Miller.

Russell was united in marriage on May 2, 1953 to Thelma Smith and they spent the next 37 years happily together until her passing on August 29, 1990. He was then united in marriage to Wilma Foss on December 4, 1992 and they spent the next 28 years happily together until her passing on March 15, 2017. Russ was a proud Veteran of the United States Army having served from 1952 until 1954. He found his passion for electronics after being trained as a Radio Operator while serving in the Army. Russ was later the owner of his own electronic shop call Midwestern Electronics in Sandwich, IL.  Mr. Miller retired from Western Electric after 33 years of employment. He enjoyed talking on his ham radio and taking care of his beloved dog, Snuggles. Russ was an avid Chicago Cubs Baseball fan who never missed watching a game on T.V. He loved being with his family and treasured their many gatherings. Russ was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.

Russ is survived by his three sons, James (Deena) Miller of Braidwood, IL, Bob (Sharen) Miller of Plano, IL and Tom Miller of Midway, TN; his grandsons, Steven (Jennifer) Miller, Brandon (Kayla) Miller, Michael (fiancée, Shaunna Weber) Miller and Noah Miller; great-grandchildren, Kaela and Kenzie Hoaglund, and Jessie Miller; also 2 step-sons, and several step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; both his wives; his sister and two brothers.

Russ’s Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1010 West South Street, Plano, IL with Deacon Doug Wells, officiating. Interment will follow in the Little Rock Township Cemetery, Plano, IL.

Friends may visit from 9:00 AM until the Hour of Service on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at the Nelson Funeral Home in Plano, IL.
