Shala Tyra

Shala Tyra, 71, of Lake Holiday Somonauk, IL passed away Monday, October 28, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 7, 1948 in Sandwich, Illinois the daughter of August and June (Rollo) Werner. She married Kenneth R. Tyra in Somonauk, Illinois. She was part of the Sunday Afternoon Mixed League in Sandwich for many years. She held many offices at the league over the years, she loved to crochet, travel, and she enjoyed researching the family tree. Especially, Shala enjoyed her yearly southern tour visiting with her extended family.  Most of all she loved being with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Ken of Somonauk, IL; her two sons, Terry Tyra of Oswego, IL and Ray (Kim) Tyra of Naperville, IL; one sister, Sheri Halverson of Arizona; one brother, Larry (Delores) Werner of Somonauk, IL; six grandchildren, Kassandra Tyra, Aaron Tyra, Alex Tyra, Joshua Castleman, Katherine Castleman, and Madison Tyra; four great grandchildren, Jaxon, Linkin, Apollo, and Willow. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Dale Werner.

Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, November 1, 2019 at Turner Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, Illinois. With Father Kevin Butler officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 noon on Friday, November 1, 2019 in the funeral home. I am so sorry to hear if Shala’s passing. It was good to see her at our class reunion a few years ago. May God’s peace and promise of eternal life be with her family and friends.
