Sherry A. Grisko, age 82, of Yorkville, IL passed away on Monday, August 5, 2019 at her home. She was born on July 23, 1937 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Kenneth and Nellie (Robertson) Brummet.

Sherry was united in marriage on August 31, 1974 to Gerald J. Grisko and they spent the next 34 happy years together until his passing on April 9, 2008. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Mrs. Grisko was employed for many years as an executive secretary with Argonne National Laboratory in Lemont, IL. Sherry enjoyed reading her Bible and many other Christian books. She also loved the peace and quiet of her home in the Ozarks.

She is survived by her six children, Greg (Lisa) Gutknecht of St. Louis, MO, Kelly Kuntzendorf of Yorkville, IL, Scott (Denise) Gutknecht of Minooka, IL, Gary (Eymy) Grisko of Marco Island, FL, Sandy Grisko of Villa Park, IL, and Dan (Lillie) Grisko of Chicago, IL; her 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; her sister, Jackie Grossius of St. Louis, MO; as well as several nieces and nephews including Maryann Shinabargar of Affton, MO, George Grossius of Affton, MO, and Alicia Grossius of St. Louis, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Nellie Brummet; her husband Gerald Grisko; her brother and sister-in-law, William and Ruth Brummet; and her brother-in-law, William Grossius.

Funeral Services will be held at 9:00 AM on Friday, August 9, 2019 at the Nelson Funeral Home and Crematory, 1617 N. Bridge St., Yorkville, IL. Interment will follow in the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.

Friends may visit from 3:00 until 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at the Nelson Funeral Home in Yorkville, IL.
