I met Theresa some 35 years ago when I first came to Kendall County Human Services. During those years Theresa served as, among other things, a communications officer for the Plano Police. She would call Human Services on-call mental health workers when Plano families were in acute distress. Our whole staff would often share how very helpful and compassionate Theresa was when dealing with people in pain. She helped so many people; preventing suicides and other violence, helping runaway kids and assisting in many other important ways. Since then we became good friends, often visiting a few minutes before she began her shift at her beloved Plano PD. Creative, authentic, kind, protective, loyal and fiercely family focused, Theresa was one of the finest people I have had the honor to know.

I extend my heartfelt and deepest condolences to her fine, close family, especially her now adult children, Briante & her husband Akim and son Evan.

In loving friendship,

Wallace Hamlin
