Uvana Hill

Uvana C. Hill, 101, of Sandwich, IL formerly of Earlville, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich.  She was born July 15, 1918 in Fayette County Southern, IL the daughter of Hendricks and Vertie (Seaton) Casey.  She married Ernest J. Hill in Earlville, IL.  Uvana and her husband Ernie resided in Earlville for 42 years and moved to Sandwich in 2007.  She was an Avon lady for several years, loved gardening, (she could grow anything), flowers, her dogs, and apple pie.  Uvana loved spending time with her family, and cooking.  She lived a remarkable life to a 101.  She will be sadly missed, but happily remembered.

She is survived by two grandsons, David (Lynn) Skinner of Sycamore, IL and Darren (Misty) Skinner of Earlville, IL;  three great grandchildren, Doug H. Skinner, Ashley Skinner, and Zach Skinner;  four great great grandchildren, Olivia, Maddox, Kohen, and Avery, several nieces, nephews and friends

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ernest in 2010, a daughter, Marlene Skinner, one son-in-law, Harold “Whitey” Skinner, one grandson, Douglas L. Skinner;  three siblings, Clark, Burrell, and Ila. According to Uvana’s wishes private family services will be held.  Arrangements were entrusted to Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich, IL.
