The Interstate 8 Boys Golf Tournament took place at Bliss Creek Golf Course in Sugar Grove on Monday at the Kaneland Knights were able to win the tournament title after also winning the regular season crown. Kaneland shot a 298 ahead of second place Morris who shot a 311 as a team. Kaneland also finished the regular season with a perfect 7-0 I-8 Conference record just ahead of Sycamore who finished 6-1.
Josh Pehl was meet Medalist with a 73 and the rest of his Kaneland Knights teammates were able to support their leader. Hagan Rank and Lucas Pehl tied for second with each shooting a 74 and Ryan Milton carded a 77 to tie for sixth place. Cody Ganzon finished tied for eighth with a 78 and Gavin Woods had a 83 for Kaneland on the day. Both of the Pehl’s, Milton and Ganzon were named All-Conference first team as well. Hagan received Honorable Mention honors as well.
Plano was led in scoring by Mason Accidentale with a 97 followed by Trevor Hunt with a 91. Other scoring for the Reapers saw Carson Gill shoot a 92, Xavier Padilla had a 94, Jack Olivier had a 96 and Nick Benson finished out the day for Plano with a 124. Accidentale was named All-Conference for the Reapers.
Sandwich was led in scoring by Jacob Heilemeier with a 90 on the day in some tough conditions on a chilly and rainy course. Aidan Sullivan carded a 93, Noah Klossing shot a 106, Sam Dawson a 107, along with Sawyer Allen with a 107 and Ian Kelson had a 121.
