The Kaneland Knights boys golf team won the Interstate 8 Tournament and regular season Championships this week. The I-8 Tournament was held at Bliss Creek Golf Course and Kaneland shot a 204 to take the championship with Sycamore finishing second with a 317. Morris was third with a 329 followed by Ottawa at 336, LaSalle-Peru 346, Sandwich 410, Rochelle 411 and Plano with a 422.
Lucas Pehl from Kaneland won the individual championship at the tournament with a 1 under par 69. Kaneland had three other golfers in the top 5 as Bryce Stair was 2nd with a 73, Cody Ganzon third with a 75 and Josh Pehl 5th with a 77. Ryan Milton for Kaneland tied for sixth with a 78 as well. A dominant performance for the Knights. They went 7-0 to take the regular season championship as well.
During the regular season for Kaneland Stair was the top scorer in the conference with 112 points, Josh Pehl finished second with 110 points. Those two along with Ryan Milton were All-Conference as Milton tied for 12th with 91 points. Ganzon and Lucas Pehl were Honorable Mention ALL-Conference for the season as well for the Knights.
