The Kaneland boys track team was part of a 8 team indoor invite hosted by Batavia High School. Kaneland finished 5th overall and had several good finishes among their participants.
Taking first place was Porter Conroy in the High Jump crossing the bar at 6’0” and Drew Hahn in the Shot Put with a distance of 47”10” on the night. Max Gagne took a third in the 55 Meter Dash with a time of 6.83 and he finished sixth in the 200 in a time of 24:32.
Daniel Occhipinti ran an indoor best for himself in the 1600 finishing third in a time of 4:31.78. Freshman Corey Phillips took seventh in the 200 with a time of 24.64, which was 13th fastest time for an Illinois Freshman.
Ted Allen and Nate Bermes both cleared 12’6” in the Pole Vault to finish fifth and eighth respectively, Coach Andy Drendel said “Not bad after only 1 vault practice. Colton Doll finished fifth in the Triple Jump and Alex Dhom was sixth in the Long Jump at 18”10.5”.
Kaneland will compete at Burlington Central on Friday, March 8th at their brand new fieldhouse in the Rocket Invite.
