Kaneland Knights 250x250

In their first season as a program the Kaneland Knights girls golf team won the Interstate 8 Conference tournament with a 404. The Sandwich Lady Indians finished 2nd with a 412, Sycamore was 3rd with a 423 and Plano finished 4th with a 432. Ottawa had a 460 good for 5th and LaSalle-Peru shot a 475 to round out the field. Rochelle and Morris had individuals who golfed but did not field a complete team and had no team scores.

Medalist was Megan Thiravong from Rochelle who shot an 80 and Faith Malloy from Plano finished 2nd with a fine round of 83. Other local low scores were Kaneland’s Katherine Marshall who finished 4th with a 90, Alijah Campbell from Sandwich and Julia Skiba from Kaneland tied for 6th each firing a 96. Sandwich had two finish tied for 9th as Morgan Ross and Grace Donahue each shot a 102. Kendal Flodstrom from Plano also had a good round in tough conditions at Sycamore as she had a 103.

Congratulations to first year Head Coach Joe Hughes and his Kaneland Knights, what a first year for Girls Golf at Kaneland!!! Sandwich and Plano also had some strong play throughout the season. Good Luck in the postseason to all of them.
