The Kaneland Knights will be matched up against the Crystal Lake Central Tigers as they will host the Tigers on Friday night at 7:30pm. The Tigers are from a very tough Fox Valley Conference that features powerhouse programs like Huntley and Prairie Ridge who both finished 8-1 this season. Cary Grove another tough team from the Fox Valley Conference was 72, the Tigers 6-3 and Crystal Lake South 5-4 all playoff teams.
Kaneland was part of the new Interstate Eight Conference this past season going 7-2 with losses to Sycamore 35-14 and Morris 35-30. Sycamore finished with a 8-1 record with their only loss coming at the hands of DeKalb. Morris lost to undefeated Coal City and Sycamore on the season. The only other playoff team that Kaneland faced this season was 5-4 LaSalle-Peru. Sandwich and Rochelle both went 4-5 and just finished out of the playoff picture.
Kaneland is truly a powerhouse each and every season and has been for many years. They feature a solid attack on offense with veteran Joe Smith at the helm at quarterback and Jack McIntire at running back. Max Gagne, Brett David, Colton Doll, Trevor Carlson and Ian Diehl and others give Smith a lot of targets in the passing game. Sam Pryor and John Davis are among the talented linemen in the Knights lineup and Andreas Matarangas is a strong kicker for Kaneland as well.
Head Coach Pat Ryan and his veteran coaching staff will have the Knights ready for football coming this Friday you can bet on that. Good Luck Knights!!!
