Oswego East battled from beginning to end at East Aurora in the Class 4A Sectional Final against Bolingbrook last Friday, but the Wolves lost 66-64. The lead changed 19 times in the game and it was tied 10 times and a last second 3 point try just missed winning the game for the Oswego East Wolves. Four players on each team reached double figures on the night with seniors leading each team in scoring.
For Oswego East Demari Grant a senior transfer ironically from Bolingbrook was the leading scorer in the game with 19 points. Fellow senior standout R.J. Dennis added 16 points and 9 rebounds to the Wolves cause. Junior Sam Schultz just missed a double-double with 12 points and 9 rebounds with senior Kamron Battle netting 11 points.
Bolingbrook was led by seniors Joseph Yesufu with 16 points and Tyler Cochran added 15 points as well as a game high 10 rebounds to the winners totals. Two juniors Darius Burford with 14 points and Jordan Myrick with 11 points helped the Raiders from Bolingbrook advance to the super-sectional at ISU.
The Wolves ended the season with an outstanding 24-8 record, while Bolingbrook improved to 23-7.
