The Oswego East Wolves were able to come from behind in their regulars season finale against West Aurora to win 16-13 and finish with a 5-4 record. The Wolves are now part of the Southwest Prairie Conference (West) with 5 of the 6 teams in the West qualifying for the postseason in football. East had a key win over Plainfield South in Week 4 as they won 28-0. The Wolves also had close games with rival Oswego 14-3 and Plainfield North 14-9 as part of their 4 losses.
South Elgin plays in the tough Upstate Eight Conference and finished 8-1 in the regular season. The lone loss for the South Elgin Storm was to 8-1 Bartlett in Week 8. The Storm defeated playoff teams Glenbard East, Glenbard South and Elgin during their season. The defense for the Storm has been tremendous as they allowed only 37 points this season while their offense was tremendous putting up 448 points against their opponents.
The Wolves scored just 210 points on the season with 168 of those points were in their first 4 games. After they began play against the West teams points were hard to come by with 16 being the most and as we mentioned that was in Week 9 against West Aurora. On the other the Wolves were fairly stingy as they have only given up 109 points or about 12 points per game. Good luck to the Wolves in the playoffs as they play on Saturday on the road at South Elgin at 1 pm.
