The Sandwich girls basketball team is off to a fast start in their 2019-20 season as they are now 5-0. Last season the Sandwich Lady Indians basketball team went 32-1, winning their first 32 games straight. They won the Tim Humes Breakout Tournament in Somonauk with a 4-0 record.
The Lady Indians return Josie Ness, Jaylynn Vana, Ava Knepper, Sophia Datoli and Claire Roberts for the 2019-20 campaign. Grace Donahue, Molly Roberts, Claire Allen, Maggie Knepper and Catrina Mitchell round out this years varsity squad.
Sandwich defeated Mendota in their first home game of the regular season and look forward to competing in the Interstate 8 Conference. The I-8 will certainly have a different look as only Plano and Sandwich remain from the old group of conference foes. New I-8 teams are Morris, Ottawa, LaSalle-Peru, Rochelle, Sycamore and Kaneland.
We look forward to covering the Lady Indians again this season and will have them live in some girl/boy double-headers with the first one coming early in the season against Kaneland December 13. Good Luck to Head Coach Chris Johnson and the Lady Indians in 2019-2020!!
