The Yorkville Foxes boys basketball team won their last three games with a win over Route 34 rival Plano and wins over Minooka and IMSA as well. The Foxes got by Plano 56-43, Minooka 48-34 and IMSA 79-45.
Against Plano Ryan Shimp had a big night on both offense and defense. Shimp had 14 points, 10 rebounds and also made 24 defensive plays according to the Yorkville play chart. Cole Yearsley added 12 points and Josh Beetham had 11 points as well.
Yorkville had split their first two Southwest Prairie Conference games and headed on the road to face Minooka in their first SPC road trip. The Foxes used their tough defense to secure this one holding Minooka to just 6 points in the 2nd quarter and 8 in the 3rd. Beetham led the Foxes in scoring with 12. Jack Marker added 11 points and Brandon Ducoing chipped in the 9 points.
Beetham again topped the scoring column for the Foxes against IMSA as he had a team high 14 points and also pulled down 8 big rebounds. Yearsley had 13 points and Jack Fisher had 12 points and a nice night defensively with 5 steals. Marker had 10 points and a team high 6 assists to help the Foxes win their 3rd straight. Marker also set a new single game defensive play record with 27 plays.
Yorkville is now 6-3 overall and their conference mark in the SPC stands at 2-1.
