The Aurora Police Department is expecting another big turnout this
year at the Chicago Premium Outlet Mall for Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday Shopping, a tradition in Aurora since the first-ever Black Friday.
The mall will be one of the only malls in the Chicagoland area to be open on Thanksgiving Day at 6 p.m. and will be open for a straight 28 hours as shoppers come for the best deals this holiday season.
To help keep shoppers coming and going this year, the Aurora Police Department is working in conjunction with the Chicago Premium Outlets to make sure traffic stays moving and everyone stays safe.
Due to the expected heavy traffic, multiple detours and road closures will be put into effect starting at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
Officers, volunteers from Aurora’s Emergency Management Agency and parking attendants will be posted throughout the detours to help direct customers around the mall.
For those coming on Thanksgiving Day or Black Friday, here’s the best way to get to and from the mall.
