Note to Readers: Information presented here is obtained from the city police and sheriff's departments. Individuals listed in reports who have been charged with a crime have not been proven guilty in court.

Oswego Police Department:

Oswego police on Sunday arrested 25-year-old Nicholas J. Giesen, of Aurora, from the Kohl's Store on Route 34. Giesen is charged with retail theft. He's accused of trying to steal just shy of $500 in merchandise. Giesen was taken to the Kendall County Jail.

The driver of a motorcycle was taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash at Route 30 and Wolf's Crossing Road in Oswego on Sunday. Police say a vehicle driven by 62-year-old York E. Willborne, of Oswego, failed to yield while turning left and was hit by a motorcycle driven by 30-year-old Anthony J. Rummell, of Aurora. Rummell was taken to a hospital. He was charged with driving with a suspended licence and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Rummell was also named in warrants for missing court in DuPage and Kendall counties. He was taken to the Kendall County Jail where he later posted bond to be released. 

Plano Police Department:

Plano police arrested 49-year-old Michael A. Gabel, of Plano, following a crash early Sunday morning in the 2500 block of Rock Creek Road. Police say the crash involved a pickup truck and some mailboxes. Gabel is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He posted bond to be released with his notice to be in Kendall County Court.
