Note to Readers: Information presented here is obtained from the city police and sheriff's departments. Individuals listed in reports who have been charged with a crime have not been proven guilty in court.

LaSalle County Sheriff's Office:

An Aurora woman has a ticket for improper overtaking after a crash on Route 71 at N. 3653 in Norway Friday. Police say 23-year-old Natalie D. Ricsh, of Aurora, was heading north on Route 71 when she rear-ended another vehicle trying to turn left onto N. 3653rd Road while trying to pass it. Both Ricsh, and the other driver 40-year-old Allen L. Atkins of Sauk Village, were treated and released by paramedics. Risch was given a notice to be in court.

Oswego Police Department:

Oswego police arrested 34-year-old Jason W. Merritt, of DeKalb, and 29-year-old Quincy A. Covington, of Oswego, Saturday from the 1800 block of Route 30. The two are each charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. Police say the arrests followed a traffic stop for an alleged driver's license violation. There were four subjects in the vehicle and three fled the traffic stop. One of the individuals who fled, identified as Quincy Covington was taken to an area hospital for cold exposure. Jason Merritt was taken to the Kendall County Jail. Police found say they found guns in the vehicle. The two other suspects were not apprehended by police.
