Aurora Police arrested 40-year-old Jesse Valenciano, of Aurora, after he allegedly stole someone's car and crashed it Sunday on the city's east side.
Police alleged that Valenciano had entered the victim's vehicle while they were dropping something off at a home in the 1000 block of Liberty Street. Valenciano is said to have demanded that the passenger in the vehicle leave before he drove off with it.
A short time later, the vehicle crashed into another occupied vehicle at Liberty and Trask streets. Police say Valenciano tried to drive away, but the vehicle was too damaged. He then allegedly fled on foot. One of the victims then chased and tackled Valenciano and held him until police arrived and arrested him
Valenciano is charged with vehicular hijacking, possession of a stolen vehicle, and leaving an accident scene.
