A candidate forum has been scheduled for next month where candidates running in a primary for Kendall County Board in District 2 and the Kendall County Circuit Clerk's Office will be questioned.

The newly formed Aurora Area chapter of the League of Women Voters has announced a number of candidate forums to be held for various races. For the candidates in the Kendall County races, the forum will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd at 6:30 p.m. for Republican candidates for District 2 of the county board, which has a contested number of seats before moving into the general election. A forum will be held at 8:00 p.m. for Republican candidates running for Kendall County Circuit Clerk, which also has a contested primary. Both forums are being held in the community room of the Oswego Fire Protection District Station No. 1 at 3511 Woolley Rd. in Oswego.

In District 2, five candidates are seeking three seats in the Republican primary. They are: Joe West of Oswego, Dan Koukol of Oswego, incumbent Tony Giles of Oswego, incumbent Matt Kellogg of Yorkville and Gabriella Shanahan of Joliet.

Mary Murray of Oswego, Karen Novy of Oswego, and incumbent Elizabeth Flowers of Montgomery filed as Democrats but are not contested in the primary.

For circuit clerk, Michelle Halbesma of Yorkville, Matthew Prochaska of Bristol, and Emily Carlson of Yorkville all filed as Republicans. On the Democratic ticket, Ryan Kauffman of Oswego is running for circuit clerk but is also uncontested in the primary.

Several other forums hosted by the League of Women Voters will be held for candidates running for the 14th Congressional District Republican primary, the Kane County Board, Kane County State's Attorney, Illinois House District 83 and several other races.
