In a new educational approach, there is DEI. Many do not know about or understand this acronym.

D stands for diversity. E is the letter for equity. I represents inclusion.

Dr. Jadon Waller is the director of DEI for Oswego School District 308, her enthusiasm addicting, her first-hand knowledge enlightening, and her intent purposeful.

To understand DEI further, there are these words: amplify, silo, and marginalization.

Why is DEI important today?

In Oswego School District 308, Dr. Waller instructs and leads not only students, but teachers, parents, and board of education members.

In part two tomorrow, WSPY News will present issues in the LGBTQ+ community, then in part three, the series concludes with how parents can help their children.
