The current presiding judge of the DeKalb County Courthouse has been selected as Chief Judge of the Twenty-Third Judicial Circuit that includes Kendall and DeKalb counties.
Judge Bradley Waller will start as chief judge on December 6.
Current Chief Judge Robert Pilmer says Judge Waller is an excellent selection who has the skills and experience to be a successful chief judge.
Judge Waller says that he's thankful to have the support of his fellow judges and is looking forward to working with all the judges for the duration of his three year term.
Waller was unanimously selected by all of the 23rd District Circuit Judges for the job. The office alternates between Kendall and DeKalb Counties.
Waller was first appointed as an Associate Judge in 2013 and subsequently appointed as a Circuit Judge by the Illinois Supreme Court. He was elected to the position in 2016. Waller practiced law before becoming a judge. He resides in DeKalb.
