DeKalb County Treasurer Becky Springer has announced that she will seek to be elected as treasurer this year. The Republican Springer was appointed to the job last January when former Treasurer Christine J. Johnson retired.
Springer says it has been an honor to have been appointed as treasurer and that her office is run with fiscal responsibility, transparency, and a strong desire to serve those in DeKalb County.
Springer is a graduate of Sycamore High School and has a bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University. She worked in the banking industry for 20 years before becoming DeKalb County Treasurer.
Springer is a member of the Sycamore Rotary Club and is a board member of the Sycamore Education Foundation. Springer lives in Sycamore with her husband and two children.
