Governor JB Pritzker says he's cautiously optimistic about the direction of the pandemic following a decline in COVID-19 hospitalizations during the past week. Pritzker spoke about it during a COVID-19 update Wednesday.

Pritzker says Illinois might be past the omicron peak.

Pritzker said the state continues to vaccinate many people despite a feeling out there that those inclined to get vaccinated already have.

Department of Public Health Director Ngozi Ezike says it's time now to learn how to live with COVID-19 and hinted at changes in Illinois policy.

To help combat the ongoing pandemic, the federal government is offering four free COVID-19 test kits to anyone who wants them.

The page to order the tests can be found by clicking here.
