A teen accused of shooting three people and killing two at a protest has been acquitted on all counts by a Kenosha County jury.

18-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse, of Illinois, pleaded self-defense in the shooting last year. He was 17-years-old at the time and had been at a protest over the police shooing of Jacob Blake. Rittenhouse was armed with a rifle and had said he was at the protest to protect property.

During emotional testimony in court, Rittenhouse told jurors that he only fired in self-defense and didn't mean to kill anyone. Friday's not guilty verdict seems to show that the jury agreed.

Prosecutors argued that Rittenhouse was the instigator

The jury took some three days of deliberation to reach the not guilty verdicts.
