The Kendall County Board last week voted to demolish a home located at 108 W. Ridge Street in Yorkville. The building was being used to house older Kendall County documents. Board Member Brian DeBolt says there was worry of the documents getting damaged if the home was damaged.
The documents will be heading to the county government campus just off Route 47.
The home that was previously housing the documents will be demolished for the price of $19,000.
County Board Member Matthew Kellogg says other options for the building were checked out.
The project of moving the records was part of the budget for improving the Kendall County facilities.
