The Kendall County Board on Tuesday voted to update the county's 5-Year Surface Transportation Program. The program starts next year and includes improvements through 2026.

County Highway Engineer Fran Klaas says there aren't many major changes to the program being proposed.

Kendall County Board Chairman Scott Gryder says the Ridge Road area is growing quickly.

In addition to the Ridge Road improvements, the county will also be looking at a new traffic signal in Oswego on Plainfield Road. Board member Matthew Kellogg says it was at the request of the Village of Oswego and there has been citizen feedback about it.

The study is slated to start next year. Kellogg says the area of concern has seen an increase in pedestrian traffic.

The board voted unanimously to approve the plan update.
