Kendall County Republican Party Chairman Jim Marter is among the Republicans running against Republican 16th District Congressman Adam Kinzinger in the 2022 Primary Election.
Marter, who lives in Oswego, says he has unfinished business with Kinzinger after an unsuccessful run in 2018.
Marter says Kinzinger was wrong for voting in favor of the second impeachment of former President Donald Trump. Marter also thinks that Kinzinger shouldn't dismiss purported voter fraud in the 2020 Presidential Election.
Marter says people in the 16th District have a had a change of heart about Kinzinger since 2018.
Marter says he'll run on a platform of limited and responsible government.
While Marter does not live in the 16th District he says anything can happen with potential re-districting following the 2020 Census.
In addition to his 2018 run for 16th District, Marter also ran in the Republican Primary in 2020 for the 14th Congressional District and ran in a primary against fellow Republican Mark Kirk in 2016.
