Unemployment rate climbs to 4% as 304K jobs added in January

The unemployment rate in Kendall County dropped from September to October according to data released by the Illinois Department of employment security Wednesday.

The September rate was at 4.3 percent. It dropped to 3.9 percent in October. Unemployment in the region which includes Kendall County was also down in October at 5.4 percent, down from 6.1 percent in September.

The unemployment rate also dropped in DeKalb County to 4.4 percent in October compared to September's 4.9 percent.

Aurora's October rate also dropped .6 percent to 4.6 percent. Kane County's October unemployment rate was at 4.5 percent.

The state did recently revise its numbers more than normal due to an issue from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
