A man was rescued from a hole in Aurora in the early morning hours Wednesday. The Aurora Fire Department says the man is a security guard who was walking the perimeter of a commercial property at the time. The hole was there for utility work.
The Aurora Police Department says just after midnight, firefighters and police were called to the area of Indian Trail and Orchard Road for a report of a man stuck in a hole some fifteen feet deep. A special rescue crew had to be called in. The man who fell in the hole was apparently conscious and speaking to first responders throughout the rescue.
As of 2:30 Wednesday morning the man had been rescued and flown to a hospital in critical condition.
